As part of the project “Economic Empowerment of Artisans in Albania through Certification and Professional Training,” representatives from the Embassy of Canada, the National Chamber of Crafts, the Chamber of Prizren, and the organization SDI carried out a site visit to the workshop of Ms. Hate Ora in the city of Kukës.

Ms. Hate Ora is a well-known artisan who has dedicated her career to the traditional craft of carpet weaving. This valuable skill, preserved across four generations, continues to thrive today thanks to the commitment of her daughter and granddaughters.

The craft tradition in Kukës constitutes an essential component of the region’s cultural heritage, which, despite various challenges, is being carefully safeguarded and transmitted by the women and girls of the area. Support through certification and training programs contributes significantly to the economic and professional strengthening of the artisan community.

This visit underscores the shared commitment to preserving cultural traditions and promoting the sustainable economic development of artisans in Albania.
